I started slappin this song all the time especially about 6 yrs ago with my brother when we were 15-16 and we thought we ran the streets lol. We used to run away for a few days at a time like every week and get into all kinds of shit just young bored and tryna find a purpose. Worrying our mom and family the whole time. It was always him and I against the world, but I was usually just following him and making sure he didn’t do anything too crazy that would get him hurt or killed. Eventually I got jobs and grew out of that part of life and I never “made it” but I definitely moved past that crazy time period but my brother was in and out of jail ever since. He had a few times when he got his shit together but it seemed like every time he slipped he fell down further. I always waited and hoped he’d finally get it right and get his life on track but I could only do so much to stop him from getting deeper in that lifestyle. I always feared the worst for him but I always knew he could survive anything, including the streets and his own wild antics. In the last year I started loosing almost all contact with him and sometimes I wanted to go back and join him and help him out by being by his side but I thought it’d be better if I got my shit together first. I will now always regret not going back to the bullshit and being by his side. I’ve recently been playing this song again because a few weeks ago I got the call that they found his body amongst a pile of trash under a freeway. He was laced with something that he wasn’t asking for, and was found alone, cold and I know he was sad and lost. The biggest heart, just trying to find his spot in the world. But the streets always win. 23💔 I’ll never understand 😭
